Scaling Back

In keeping with New Years resolution traditions, I would like to shed several pounds... Story of my life...
The state of Alabama has been doing a program called "Scale Back Alabama"... My job is doing essentially the same thing but it's for only people employed there.
Really the goal is to lose at least 10 lbs in 10 weeks. Sounds easy enough right? Well we will see!
Yesterday Easton went and played at a friends house and I got a little bit of mommy time to myself! I went to a few stores but I scored BIG at Hazels right off the square. I got a new pair of stud earrings and a new phone case + had it monogrammed all for $29!! What a deal!
( this of course isn't mine BUT mine will look all pretty like this once it's done being monogrammed) I got this off Hazels Instagram.

2014

So one of my New Years resolutions is to blog more... I get wrapped up in reading everyone'a blogs and forget about my own... I'm gunna give it my best shot :)

I wanted to share some photos from my phone to kind of catch up... Sorry on advance for lots-o-pics!!!
We went to the Luke Bryan Farm Tour in Opelika, AL. He is amazing to watch perform. Period.
Had friends from Louisiana visit and went to Dream Field Farms. These boys are inseparable!
Charlie did some duck hunting
Went to the Alabama vs Auburn game... Awesome game, hated the outcome... This last picture I took was right before the infamous1 second was put back on the clock and Auburn return a kick for a touchdown... Grrrrr! Oh well can't win them all.
Santa was good to Easton... He got lots of trains, a train table, and hot wheels tracks.
And last but not least my little man is growing up so quickly!!! Slow down!!!!

I'm looking forward to a new year bc last year was rough for me. I've got a big smile and lots of hope and faith that it will be a great year!!

Hey sister AWB's!!!

I've linked up today to Get To Know Your Sister AWB! Link up and join the PARTY!!

1. What part of the state do you call home?

I currently live in Troy, Alabama. I grew up in Alabaster, Alabama (20 minutes south of Birmingham) and went to college in Troy. I met Charlie and never left :)

2. How long have you been blogging?
I beleive it was 2009 that I started my own blog. I have read others for many years, but I created mine the year my munchkin was born.

3. Why did you start blogging?
I did it as a kind of scrapbook. I have been kind of lazy with it here and there, but I try to fill in the blanks as much as I can.
4. What is your favorite part of being a member of the Alabama Women Bloggers community?
I recently joined because I loved the idea of fellow ladies like myself interested in blogging their lives. Whatever the reason may have been for them starting their blogs, it's nice to relate to them at least demographically if nothing else :)

5. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I would love to have at least one more child, be better financially stable, my husband get into a career field that he loves, myself to have a promotion, be a cool little league mom :) I would also love for my husband and I to be able to prvide our family with a yearly fun family vacation!!

6. If you could choose an actress to play you in your life, who would you choose and why?
Ummm, I would love for Camilla Alves or Jenna Dewan Tatum to play me...only b/c I would be married to Matthew McCaunaghey or Channing Tatum! haha! I kid. I kid.
In all serious probably Ginnifer Goodwin b/c I think she's a timeless classic beauty. She also comes off as a sweet kind person with a good head on her shoulders!

7. Name 5 things on your Bucket List that you hope you’ll check off before you die?
Compete in BBQ competitions (my plan once I retire)
Go to an exotic island like Bora Bora and stay in a cool hut on the water
See my Easton go to school at the University of Alabama (playing football or baseball hopefully) Roll Tide!
Swim with dolphins
Win the lottery!- yea right!

8. If you could be known for one thing, what would it be and why?
I am trustworthy and loyal! I know that's two- but they go hand in hand!

9. Describe the best moment in your life.
The day my little man was born and I had my loving husband by my side. Scary time but filled with so much joy!

10. If you could “be” anything (no consequences, no fear), what would you “be”?
I would love to be a chef! I love food....OBVIOUSLY.... but I really enjoy cooking too!

11. What or who inspires you to blog?
My family and friends

12. We’re headed to your neck of the woods… what restaurant would you recommend?
In Troy, I'd go to the Half Shell or Monarcas. Troy has more fast food than good restraunts... In Dothan (45 min south) I love La Parilla -TO DIE FOR! or Red Elephant. In Montgomery (45 min north) I like Wintzell's Oyster House downtown!- YUM!

13. What’s a southern tradition you and your family have?
We LIVE for football season! SEC all the way! We are die hard Alabama fans and can't get enough of it! We hunt, fish, and ride 4 wheelers. I love to cook...with butter...and lots of it! Hello Paula Deen!...LOVE her by the way! :)

14. If you could pick your favorite blog post from your blog this year, what would it be?
Probably one of the last ones about Summertime-b/c it was full of pictures and that's probably why...I've got to be better about posting!!

15. We all love social media, tell us your links so we can follow you!
I'm on Facebook- Look me up "Kathryn Wilkes Faircloth"

River Rats

A lot of Sundays we usually end up at "the farm" and ride 4 wheelers and hang out. "The farm" is a peice of land that our friend owns and on the backside of it the Conecuh River runs through it. Now the Conecuh river is pretty small in this area but it's big enough for us to have some fun!

We grilled some sausage and hot dogs, played ball and fished.

Easton LOVES it out there! I do too because it's relaxing and it wears my baby out and he sleeps so well when we get home!

He's getting pretty good with that SpongeBob fishing pole:)

Testing

out my new blog signature!! Whoop Whoop!

Fathers Day 2013

Saturday night we wanted to treat Charlie to a nice dinner and fun family time!! Excuse Easton's silly face! That's how most pictures go now a days :) So we dressed up a little and hit the town!

Easton was so excited to be dressed like his daddy! Can you beleive we found exact matching shirts?!? ha! This man is such a wonderful father! Easton just adoreds him and wants to be with him every second of the day! I couldn't have been blessed with a better man to be a daddy to my baby... or a better man to be my husband!
We went to Wintzell's Oyster House in Montomgery! It was very good and lived up to all the hype we have heard about it! I hate I forgot to take pics of the food, but it was so yummy that I kind of forgot and dug right in. For appetizers we had fried dill pickles and fried crab claws. Easton ate chicken fingers and french fries of course, I ate a shrimp po boy and fries, and Charlie had blackened red fish and sweet potato fries! Yum! He definately deserved this yummy and , ahem, pricey meal!
FYI it was only pricey b/c of what all we got and that the crab claws were market price....and whenever you see "market price" instead of an amount...you know it's gunna hit you where it hurts! It was VERY good and I definately recomend that everyone go and try it!

A peek into our Summer so far

Easton has started asking to "drive" once we get to our dirt road.... and being a daddy's boy he usually gets his way :) I guess you can never start too early! Besides down here in south Alabama most boys learn to drive in the cow pastures. ha! j/k... although it may be true in some cases :)

I beleive we may have a mini Eric Church on our hands! Between the entertainment we received while setting up for the annual Pike County Ducks Unlimited banquet, and the aviators...he's kind of got it down pat!

Also this Summer we have been fishing alot! I enjoy getting out on the boat with my boys relaxing, and E and daddy enjoy catching the fishies :) Last time we went we had a whole herd of cattle staring at us the whole time... I couldn't help but think about the Chick-Fil-A cows and how they would be proud that we were catching fish to eat instead of beef :) Also Charlie has been fishing in some tournaments lately and has had a great time doing so! He has met alot of new people and even made a few good friends in the process! Easton was so proud of daddy's catch!

We saw a gorgeous double rainbow after a nasty storm...

And last but not least meet the newest member of the Faircloth family, Dan! He is a dapple patterned miniture daschound! We debated on a name for a while and Dan was just a name we jokingly called him and it kind of stuck... It's kind of funny though b/c we call him "Dapper Dan" "Lt. Dan"....and the list goes on :)
